Locker 1012 - Glasgow

 Locker 1012...

This little café nestled into argyle street in Finnieston, owns the title of aesthetic and that is something the TikTok recommending it, managed to capture. For my fifth and final blog post it only felt right to choose a place like Locker 1012 that had such a unique quality to it. Their social media feeds are so incredibly visually pleasing that you would never believe it was such a small coffee spot. The photography of the dishes they have to offer filled me with excitement and seemed like the perfect day out during these times.

I naively planned to book the spot for the day after I discovered it, but the fact it was booked for multiple days to come was a quick reminder of its popularity! It was only a 20 minute walk from my flat and the baby pink storefront made it more then easy to spot. Standing out from the rest of the shops on the street, Locker 1012 gives you a sneak peak of the colour scheme inside. Although they had gone with a mostly pink colour palette they managed to avoid cheapening the look of the café and went with a rather sophisticated finish instead.  The pink décor and furniture was broken up by the white marble effect flooring, and was complimented by the many flower wall features on each side. When we arrived the coffee shop was already busy with groups catching up inside and creating a welcoming atmosphere. The staff was lovely and quick to get our drink orders in of hot chocolates.

The small but concise menu captured everything you would need for breakfast or lunch. With the choice of Japanese style pancakes, open top sourdough sandwiches, or eggs royale - all with many different variations available. I decided on the Japanese soufflé pancakes with white chocolate sauce and raspberries and it did not disappoint. The massive pancakes, were light and fluffy, complimented by the sauce that gave it extra flavour and the raspberries on top cutting through to avoid it being too sweet.  The very generous portion was incredibly delicious and so filling, it definitely  proved the theory of eyes bigger then your stomach! With one of the group also getting the same experience of the crazy good pancakes, the other two decided on smoked salmon dishes. Something you couldn't help but notice as soon as the dishes were placed on the table was the more then generous portions of salmon. Locker 1012 did not hold back when it came to the delicacy making it even more worthwhile.

Considering the portion sizes and the skill that clearly went into making the food, I can't believe how reasonably priced it was. With each of us being £8.90 for our food and £2.80 for hot chocolates, definitely budget friendly.  Overall, I cannot recommend Locker 1012 enough!! It is the perfect setting to meet your friends for a lunch date with good food and good vibes. Out of all my blog posts it has to claim top spot as the favourite and makes it the perfect finish to The Taste of TikTok.

Until next time,

CHRISTIE x
