The Brunch Club - Glasgow
The Brunch Club...
After @girlsaroundscotland's flawless recommendation of Paesano's, it only felt right to follow their advice by choosing The Brunch Club next. Advertised as the go to place for all your brunch needs, you can't say no to the delicious selections on offer. With locations in both Glasgow and Edinburgh, the breakfast restaurant has well established itself in both cities. The Glasgow location is wrapped around a corner just off Sauchiehall Street in the West End, seconds from Kelvingrove Museum making it the perfect pit stop to start off a day of exploring.
Previously, The Brunch Club have perfected the art of a boozy brunch, with a refreshing menu of cocktails or prosecco to accomplish your meal. However due to current COIVD restrictions that element of their service has had to be suspended but hopefully only temporarily! This just placed more focus on their food offerings and they did not disappoint.
The restaurant is currently only doing walk-ins which makes it an ideal last minute option, but the stress of whether it will be too busy always lingers. Our first port of call was ordering drinks and the smoothies they had on offer looked too good to turn down. If you are a fan of Fuel, which we all were, then this is the right place for you. They keep their selection small with only four different smoothies but they manage to cover the fruity basics to the green machines. The smoothies are presented in large cocktail glasses, topped with the appropriate fruit and gets your taste buds excited for what is to come.
Whilst my friends opted for the savoury route, I decided to stay loyal to the classic breakfast choice of pancakes. The rest of the group deciding on a mixture of rolls, loaded fries and poke bowls. One of my favourite qualities in a café or restaurant is quick service rather then leaving you waiting unable to think of anything other then your food. The Brunch Club excelled at this and delivered immaculately presented food that had all our mouths watering. My pancakes were served with Nutella, fresh berries and homemade granola and really lived up to my expectations. However, I would caution if you aren’t crazed on pumpkin seeds or granola then this is not the option for you, as they were very generous in their garnishing. The rest of the group were highly satisfied in their choices, with the egg based dishes appearing to be The Brunch Club’s speciality. The restaurant overall is very reasonably priced, especially the loaded fries for their portion sizes, and can be deemed student friendly.
The atmosphere in the restaurant is very relaxed and makes it the perfect meet up spot to catch up with friends or family whilst enjoying some good food. The interior of the restaurant is rustic and intimate in its ways and makes you feel at home. Overall, I would highly recommend The Brunch Club to anyone searching for a new breakfast or lunch spot due to the high quality of their food and service.
Until next time,
CHRISTIE x
